Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen, and welcome to episode number nine of the beyond the sea cast. My name is well and, as always, I'm joined by the MESCO host in the world, Conrad. Hello, Conrad Man, are you doing? I've all by its very high price. Thank you very much. It's always fun talking to you. The best home. Yeah, that's cost. I can ask or so. Yeah, but how are you? I'm good. I'm good. Ready for this pretty nice episode of to be on the sea cast. We've got some pretty nice stuff to this to dis kill us with the upcoming show, which is going to be this Thursday, if I recall correctly. Yes, that's going to be this Thursday and the next the magic discussion of the week. First things first, we're gonna we're going to congratulate Rico Kay Jew on our on our first anniversary in pro wrestling, which was last week, but we forgot about it and since we're pretty much a rik, a rick. Okay, drew, how do I? How do I say this a let's say, let's say we're just, you know, to big Ryokay, you fans. So where are we? Feel Sill. been a shame that we did do that. We forgot about it last week. So yeah, happy, happy, only were set we got to Kaju. And as for the other bit of Info, well, I guess you felt. You felt the numbers. I guess I'm going to let you talk about the attendance for then the Nana Ta Kashi Twenty fifth ever social okay. So, yeah, this was this quite a good number actually, five hundred ninety six people. That Krek and hall. Or just before I move on to that, I'm actually surprised that we forgot about the about these kids anniversary. Like our whole twitter thing is we are like a last e goes propaganda machine and we still have forgot about it. But yeah, yeah, okay, congratulations to Rica Kaiju on her first year in wrestling and hopefully there's many more to come. Yeah, back to the attendance numbers. This was ceilings best number of well, best number since the fifth anniversary show at Krakn Hall. Five hundred ninety six people, which is up over two hundred people from growth together in March and just over a hundred from the opening match show at the thing. That was January the eleven. So it looks like y's sorry, yeah, just I'm gonna say yeah, there's a good numbers and are looks like things are looking up after kind of a shaky like sixteen months, I guess, a covid and kind of the tenants numbers being about all over the place and hopefully this is a start of someome like continued...

...growth the sailing in terms of a love attendance. Yeah, it's pretty good number. I when you see some of the some of the promotions which are either, you know, some are some bigger promotions, some smaller, then to real struggle getting to such numbers. So yeah, it's pretty good for seedling. So yeah, you know, happy, happy for happy for them and hopefully, as you say, like they can keep getting numbers around, yeah, around the six hundreds next time they get to working. So that should be good. So how about we get out to the actual program of this show, starting off with well we're going to do? We're going to discuss the upcoming show to seedling go Nigata event which is going to be on July twenty s July twenty two. A quick rundown of the card. The opener is going to be Sukyo key face facing Onorihana. Then we've got a thriple threat which I might which I can only assume is going to be I speed rules between I ams Sasamura, Rico Kawahta, and take left from Ice Tuban, with as your referee, obviously net Kittayo, that the third match is going to be a recently Kajima Facing Rico Kai Jing, the singles match. So at the Anniversary Rico, I guess. And as for our main event, we're going to have Nina taken actually teaming up with you and on Norihanna's going to be on double duded. On that night. Be Seeing real meason, I met beyond the sea, singles champion, teaming up with two Syndai girls proressing wrestlers in Mikay. What are in Manami? So first of all, what do you think of discard overall and everyone looks like a pretty like not a standard ceiling card, but it still looks quite quite, kind of evenly balanced. It seems like like even like the veteran versus rookie matches seemed good. There's a big an introduction for me to Mikael Watta and Minami, because I don't actually watch a watch send by girls. So this will be kind of a good like a good, I guess, starting points of some of their talent. The Ariason, I could gymer, versus a beast kid match seems to be the one that I'm drawn to most in terms of like excitement levels, just because obviously we saw the return of kind of very violent like headbutting and, you know, casual murder, a Reson, I could jeamer. So this will be an obviously, Rick O Kaiju has been will heard development this year has been really good to see. So this will be that be a really good matchup to s see and I think it could be like I won't go as far to say as much of the year contended, but I think that will be the match of the night just because of the dynamic there and they kind amendments in the both have got from last few shows. Yeah, well, speaking of the Arisubers vers Rico Kaiju should show...

...the match. I should say. I just said this doing it should be a great opportunity for a coach showcase yourself or we're going to see most likely some big time via violence from Aresa and, as you said, as those matches between veterans and rookies, it should be I wouldn't expect this one to be, you know, like it's not going to be like you know this. It's very long match, but it might be like possibly the first match when we actually get a Rico to obvious. It's pretty obvious that she's going to get beat up and and lose like that, like that's a foregun result. But it might be one of these matches where she actually gets to show a little bit more than we're used to and possibly it might, possibly, might possibly be one of those matches where she actually gets to take another step in a progress. So in that sense yet that that's also a match I really look forward to. It could possibly be metture of to night, depending on how that goes. To though, I think the main event most likely will should get these owners, given given the talent involved, then that I do. I do think like the again, depending on how things go, especially depending on biscuits performance, we could get close to to a much of the night with with this or weekend i Jim Ebersquai you match and the second thing I wanted to talk about so about Sinda girls. Are the Sendai Girls Wrestler wrestlers coming coming in ceiling. In the past, the two promotions I've been working together. There's been the likes of because at Tomura and in dushy SACO, coming up coming, coming in seeling. In previous years, which is something which hasn't happened, I didn't happen too much other a few years. So I guess the question, the cache, the question I'm going to ask you is with seeing that we get, we get more, we get well, I'm going to rephrase this. We get the Sendai girls wrestlers back in ceiling. Like. What can we up for? Essentially a kiss to you. Is this like something like some some sort of Onea for is this or is this something which you think could lead up to, well, more appearances and maybe something more than the line, especially with, you know, the big partnership between well, partnership I get. I guess we could call you, a partnership, I guess, between senda girls and marvels, which has led to the big guyism show last June. So yeah, do you think there's much we can hope for when it comes to this? I think at the minute I'd probably say it kind of leans more towards just being a...

...continuation of what we've seen in the past, where this kind of like some kind of loose crossover and kind of like some appearances from like other like talent from other promotions. Right, I don't see it being like a full on kind of well, like the start of like a proper work in agreement or anything. I think would be a kind of like a cat more casual thing, and it will kind of stay like that, like moving forwards. Like I don't really know what to say about it, but I think that's that's kind of direction that, though, they'll be going in, like at least of the time being. Yeah, it's probably to say things or to give as we know from past years, seedling and more of a US have been in I've been working together as well. As we know, like tachome hero has been, has been a prominent figure in these, in seedlings or of the years, even becoming seiling beyond the sea champion for like she was, well, she was sick and Jimmy and as she defeated a later guy, actually into dozen, eighteeen so, or was interests and eating, I don't even remember now, but anyways. So, yeah, like it's supposed likely some kind of, yeah, loose appearance from from from wrestles, from other promotions, as as we often have in with seething anyways. But yeah, like hopefully, like hopefully, and time we tell if you did. There's some more lying behindle of this, but up and hi, sure rope will give it. I I'm qut high on the understand diger stands and I would definitely like to see a more of them in seed as there's a whole bunch of menches I would like to see. But yeah, ID end the idea of the day. I seemed like something kwatt and myn I'm eating this in this main event like it's pretty it's pretty good news. I definitely look forward to the medical being they'll be in on Thursday. Is there anything, girls that you that you would like to add when it comes to the upcoming sure, or are we already moving on to the match? For you to this week'specture? You then go. I can really added. I think this will kind of be like it won't be like a contender for show of the year. I think that will kind of be more towards the well ie anything towards like ceiling show there. I think it would be like, I guess the best way you can put it is kind of a new Japan road to show where, like you're you'll probably get like a flash of brilliants every so often, but I think most of its kind of to build or kind of showcase wrestlers and kind of give them something to do. Like overall, it doesn't feel like a like a massive show, like a like a really big thing. Obviously no title defenses. And Yeah, we should be like a good like a good event, and it's on sailing live, I think, like one would assume. Yeah, I can assume it will be. I haven't even seen and I haven't seen new news of it so far, I believe.

But if I can only assumed it will be, we can note that. Besides, I am A and recode. I won't be any other less race that they go stats wrestlers appearing. So that's like the likes of as kind of Ma Couldto won't be there on a corner, comer, we won't be there either. So that's that's a little something we can note from the from this event like. But yeah, as you say, that at the end of day is going to be one of those are fun more I guess I was going to say lighthearted. I'm not sure you see, if it's the right term, but I don't one I'm going to use because I don't I don't really have another another wording in mind. But it's going to be one of those, quote unquote, less important shows of the year, but still still should be a good one. Like the Cardooks Pretty Nice. So yeah, with all that said, I guess we can move on to the to this week's match review. This week we're going to be talking about a match from two thousand and sixteen, as Nana Takashi Facing Mass to Tell Aka, from from the fight to fight event from January eleventh, two thousand and sixteen. So, Conrad, I'M gonna I'M gonna jumping first. What were you talks about this match General Times? Okay, yeah, generally like it was. It was enjoyable, like I think maybe that obviously we're going to be comparing this to the the match, that match with Gocia is Ike that we discussed on in an earlier episode, and my brains kind of fogged us to which episode that was. I think it's like episode three or four, but yeah, yeah, yeah, so, yeah, that was that was the kind of my mind went straight to love is like, because obviously I think, I think intergender wrestling is a whole is kind of there's still a lot of kind of back and forth discussion and it's kind of it's got it's died down online for like a fair bit. Now I think it's kind of been more accepted, but I think those two muches of kind of shown how, like how intergender matches can be structured in obviously we've seen instances we've been like like using it as kind of like a drive like a comedy style match in like the West. I remember there was a match between Jordan grace and orange cassidy from a beyond wrestling show. That was kind of there was some comedian moments in this but, yeah, these were kind of the yeah, generally this was it was a straight of wrestling match, but it kind of it felt it felt like more like there was more respecting it was. It remained realistic without kind of falling into those tropes that it could have done where it's like Oh, Nana's helpless and Massarta's knocker is this kind of big Badman who like hits women stuff, which I think that's kind of the conception that...

...some people still have about into gender. It's like, oh it's domestic abuse when, like I think this. This and the shares ikey much showed that it's very clearly not and it was. Yeah, overall it was good, besides the Ref Camera, which which I'm sure was us in a second. Yeah, we're going to get to talk about the referee camera. Globally, I I globally agree with what you said. This. The Special Pretty Great, a nice selling it. Dispatch was another, pretty much Mr class like showing a nothing is so great at being an underdog in doos Inter gender matches. We got to see that in inter magic and Gucciosaki and in this one, given how Tanaka wrestled this, in this one, like you went, like he wrestled this pretty much like you would wrestle anybody else. So to meet made it also helped an Nice siling performance, making it look like it was. Well, I guess, I guess next level, I guess is the way I should word it. But like it was real great performance and UMP as we can keep going with, going with the com the comparison with the shoes, like a match, like to keep go to, to keep on the idea that Tanaka was wrestling, was resting this match the same way would wrestle pretty much anyone. He for example, it did. He did the state this splash on the tape, through it, through through a table on the outside. There's been a whole bunch of stuff which which you wouldn't necessarily expect, I guess, in an intergender in an intergender wrestling match. Well, I, well, I guess. I'm not sure if I should say that. If I guess, I'm not sure if I should talk about things that you would expect or not. But get like my main takeaway really is that Turnaka went all out into this and obviously this was helped by the fact that the idea through this match is that Nanighta CA. She also was was going all out on him, like in the first few minutes of the match, like when they first went outside, like having then I just hattacked Tanaka with the chairs and Tanaka like just reply answering to her with a church at Sammy OOne. That's something which I think could be a little bit uncomfortable for some people, but personally I really liked it. Like I said, goes in the vein or just I'm just tell like a pretty much going aloud and not carrying of the fact that he's facing a woman like it's like, well, like I couldn't could respect you enough to treat two three to the same way I would treat a pretty much anyway everyone else. So there was pretty good and you could tell that at trut throughout the match. So next,...

I guess I'm going to ask you, in between the shes a key match and this one, which one did you like the most? I think I prefer overall, like in terms of the dynamics and the like, the pace and the kind of the way of structured. I think I prefer the shears a match and I think that kind of dynamic of go being like, obviously I have only really ever been used to she has a key being like this, kind of like my first instructor to him was kind of more. It's kind of like the ace of Noah, like the kind of mostly good guy who liked fights with honor and stuff and leads a company. So I haven't really seen that. I hadn't really seen that kind of side of him before. He is kind of cocky and arrogant, and I think that kind of dynamic with kind of Nane, I especially her selling and how kind of fighting from nderneath is like this and the dog figure which kind of seems like I guess it kind of seems funny in away, because I think like when people think of like nine, they kind of think, I, like she she wins, like it's seedlings, so she beats people, but like these matches kind of yeah, it's kind of like Nie Wins Low when like it's not quite the case. But yeah, overall, like the tears I cam think was the better of the two, but this I probably would have enjoyed it more, like if it was filmed in the same way. Obviously, going back to the like I think he gave me emotions thickness. That referee camera. It was so it's so distracting, like they kept cutting back towards it and it was just, yeah, if it was filmed like with a normal like a standard camera, like a hard camera, well, like the usual set up, I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more. Yeah, I think I overall had to go for this year's actly much pursue. I think I would picked. I would pick the match with Tanaka because probably because it was much more straightforward and eat, it really felt like, even though they were clear differences, like in the sense that when when tell like I would lend a move on. Then I like whether it's was a brain buster of just a lorriate and then I would sell it. Lecture was pretty mature. She was. She was always in your head and she was pretty much dying, but like she was setting very hard and when winter the opposite would happened. Tell like I wouldn't sell as much, but at the end of day, I still I still end up getting them the vibe that Nana could actually steal this match and even though she never really had the chance, like once she she gets to, she gets to to pull off some of her some of her big moves and even her finisher by the end of the match and Tanaka just kicks out and and it just keeps going, steam...

...rollstron and I and finishes the match. I still feel, I still felt like she could have won this at least a little bit more than and then the match against go and ultimately, I think I think I can speak for you as well when I said that those much. We those too much, which is we both enjoyed those two a lot, and it's it's pretty difficult to pig because the dynamics are a bit different. Like with the go match, you can tell at the beginning that is there's there's a bit of an evolution in the way that is actually a wrestling that I like, is getting more serious, is getting is getting more every shots, heavy shots in as he sees that Nice is breaking the fight to him, whereas Tanaka just goes straight straight into it from from the first second to the to the last of the match. So yeah, I would pick the I would pick the tale to tal like a much personally, but really it's a really close called with the NN with the shoes like image, like those two definitely some of the better intergender essing matches that I've seen and it's and it's very telling to me when it comes to Nanai, of how telling the cheese and how much she put to yeah, how much? Yeah, I guess how much she put is is a decent way to formulate this, to make ceiling relevant as a promotion as as this was like this, this world, like this match happened in the first few months, that seeling of selings existence. So it was one of the first few re Marky match is that the promotion had. So it's one of those yeah, yeah, it's one of those matches which I think you know, really stand out. I think it a promotions the story as well. And, speaking of, I guess history, which they like. There was a bit of an historical moment which happened late in the match. We saw Yoshiko returning, like making an appear, an appearance freak side, as she was the most likely coming from the crowd. What did you think of that? Seeing yoshiko coming, coming in, the little interaction that she had with Nana and just being her, just being her, being a ringside and encouraging her mentor I feel quite liked it. Like I'm like one of I saw as thought, oh, I could all like yes, she goes here, but like, I think there are kind of some matches where, like they have someone come from the crowd and it kind of really takes away from the match. But I think that kind of little interaction was all they've, all they needed to do, and it kind of it didn't inter up with the flow as kind of like they kind of acknowledged like that she was there, but it wasn't kind of like they didn't kind of keep filming it or like that didn't keep will didn't keep filming your Shik or whatever,...

...cutting back to her, like away from the action, which I liked. Or they included her in the shot, but like not in like the foreground of it. was kind of just there, and I think that's kind of the right call, I think. If they, I think, if she could have like say came at the beginning or like or like say on the outside, like when they're on brought and on the outside with the chairs and stuff, and I think you would have taken away from it. But I think that kind of the moment that she did come come in, like I think that was perfect time and I think as well, like just I'm just going back to like there the general kind of thoughts on the match, like Oh, I know it's gone. I had all this like thought out and I've lost it. Yeah, so the hether the other yes, she coul the year she can return was was really well put together. Yeah, I thought that I am a found Theem I found it in an age just boot booting. Yes, she cool ag like she was just pushing her away with it was a bit of an interesting bit, like I don't know it if it was like just don't interfere and this is going to be my fight or something like that. I guess I guess that was kind of the significance of that of the action, but it just it was an interesting bit and I did like this. So yeah, and now we're going to come to, I guess, the the last bit of well, I should say that I just said the last key point when it comes to when it comes to this match, which is the camera and the referee. You talked about it a little bit. Personally, I like the concept of the care of the referee camera because it just gives another it gives another perspective and I think, I think to the idea in general is pretty interesting. However, it it. It was a little weird at times. I think some of the shots that and some of the moments where they used, when they're used a camera, were just wrong, like the doing. Those were not the rain moments. But overall, it make you still had a few, a few decent shots and even though it wasn't handled always, it wasn't always an old greatly in this match, like and I know that you think it was more so bad than good. And since we PREMI SH having seen any of it, any of it since din, you can most likely guessed at the like something an a and everyone in sidling didn't think it was a great idea either, butch like I think the concept is a good idea, but it was just not attend old. So well, yeah, I think I'm pretty much like in agreement. They're like. I think that was my main thing, like the fact that it wasn't like the cut. It seemed like when they cut to...

...it, like wasn't really thought out and it's just kind of random here and there. They kept cutting him, cutting back and forth, like I think, say, if the referee was stood in the ring counting while they were all on there outside that I think that maybe could have been a good chance to cut to it, or as they came back into the ring or kind of maybe like as as either of them went to the tot rope or like when both of them tried the sliding d I think those could have been like opportunities to get something good, like with another perspective, like another kind of yeah, yeah, I think perspect is the right word, like another perspective there, but I think just kind of doing it for like random chops in the corner or kind of when the referee kind of talking to like my satis a knack of for example, it's just I kind of felt it was a bit unnecessarily. Could have just kept on like the normal cameras. But yeah, like I mean if if they thought it out, kind of did like a couple of rehearsals, like say, like a away from like a normal kind of show, I think it could work. But I don't know, I'm would I'm kind of indifferent as to whether it comes back like or not in the future. Like I wouldn't I wouldn't say no, but I wouldn't say yes either. Yeah, like you can tell that this was pretty much an experiment in that they were just trying something new, like just in the way they were they used the camera like you can tell they were, you know, tiptoing through it and just trying some things and and meet. Yeah, as you said, like maybe they'll come back, like I wouldn't mind. But also, is that kind of stuff. Yeah, like you're like you've done. If that never comes back, it's just like, well, you like you're not true. You're not really going to miss it anyways. So, yeah, is there anything else that you would had a when it comes to new when it comes to this match? And Yeah, actually it's just come a Baut to me what I was going to say. I really like the fact that the kind of, I don't know, lot the desperation that now I had when she kind of like those those a lot of her ofference and I have come back spots were kind of built on like half chances and stuff, where like maybe like my sise and snuck it was kind of working a little bit too slowly and stuff and he left her a bit too long to kind of come up with something. I like the fact that there was that desperation. Then you can kind of see it and then I think it like it went really well with like Sanaka's kind of general kind of eat. Never really seemed like it was all that kind of concerned about about any sort of offense. None I was building up, like even when she hit like the finish towards the end, when he kicked out of it, like they kind of I think they kind of like you kind of caught his face and he kind of he didn't seem to be like in that much distress like old this match could end, or he didn't look like I think he kind of knew that in the back of his mind that you could kind of take control of the match at any given time, and he did. But yeah, I think the kind of I think it did really work to get the like kind of I don't want to say stereotizes, but kind of like there's outdated tropes. I guess that like, like the women can't do it and stuff like. I think they kind of they did a bit kind of respectfully.

So it wasn't like in your face obvious, but it's kind of they kept it quite realistic, where like the size differential with a big thing. So like like there was a struggle to hit some moves and kind of obviously Naka found it easier to kind of work the match like in his in the way that you did. So, yeah, overall it was just good stuff and it will be added to the the official beyond the seacast recommendation spreadsheet that will be available soon. Absolutely, yeah, it's one of those which definitely have to be a part of the ricup the do silly recommendation matches like it's it's one of the twe of those matches which chase team. You can really these are really telling of Nena strength when he comes to selling up your see, when it comes to well, well, yeah, yeah, yeah, I guess really selling is the main point. Let where it whether it comes through facial expressions, showcasing, the desperation, show gazing, the dose, fire up moments where where it's like how do I work this, where it's like it's like she yeah, she gets fired up and you get and you get that slight hope that maybe she can turn the ties in her favor and she's just so great at doing this she would. We Pretty I'm pretty sure we talked about this already when we talked about the shows I can match, but to me it was even more celling it this one. So yeah, like it's one of those matches we t really put over Nan I as one of those workers which can which can be both great, as the as, I guess I could now use the term, I don't dominant force, like being having the the apprehend on the match, as we as we've seen the matches, or as being yead this, this hundreddog figure and being the wrestler who's was fighting from behind and just trying to get the slight opportunity to tight the to turn the tight in her favor. So yeah, with that said, I guess we talked about pretty much everything. So about? HOW ABOUT RE RUB IT UP? Yeah, that sounds good to me. Like, I think, yeah, I think it's a case of, like we can kind of do this analysis and stuff like. I think it's easy to kind of to watch the two matches and kind of comes to your own conclusions rather than kind of obviously are like we can offer insight, but I think kind of it's better if you just go and watch the watch the two and you kind of you'd like you kind of see what we mean. Like to go back to kind of how how n I kind of cells. Like I think in the Gomatch you kind of wanted to see her win, like in you really wanted to kind of see a fight backing like get the wind. But then in the Messassas snackam actually kind of you kind of knew that there was hope always going to be hoped there and you didn't want to see to and I can kind of get his come up into anything because like he kind of...

...fought as kind of as he would with anybody else and he wasn't like kind of toying with anyone or wasn't kind of being arrogant or anything. It was just like like, I guess business as usual, which I think, which I like the fact that you can kind of there's so much that you can do with with intergender stuff and I think, I think it is something that a lot of like more companies should try out, even like going against the kind of the like the complaints about like it'd be like in a little sor liken to like domestic abuse, and I was I can kind of see that kind of that side of things. But like, for me I think it's just, you know, like it's a sporting competit. It's a sporting thing and in the day, like it's choreographed. So it's a performance art. So yeah, and it's any performance. So you you know, they're not like you just have to take those matches for what they are and you know it's a performance. You know, everyone just hailery is to do all that stuff. So there. So when it comes to the whole abuse discussion, to me, in that even the case of such a match, it's not really relevant. It's it could be relevant in other instances and I think there's a Spec of a very specific wonder which is fairly recent, that you may have in mind. So so, yeah, but when it comes to this, madge it's not really it's not really relevant. Like you know, all the parties involve are really agreement or always made. Just wouldn't happen. So so, yeah, so, yeah, we've allowed that said, I guess we can work it up. So I'll get I will end. So I will. I will hand over things to you for the for the ending thing, the sequence of this podcast. Okay, so the usual social media stuff. You can follow me on twitter at octopus hold UN theer score. You can follow nipples media and nipples media when this episode comes out tomorrow. We actually we have a rather cool announcement to make. So yeah, listen to it when it comes out. You can also find, when comes to all of my writing work, at Valtoxpere on twitter, all or of all TEX FRESSINGCOM and of course I've also been starting to wre. You write for need fls media.
